Licensing officers from East Riding of Yorkshire Council were kept busy during Ladies Day making sure race-goers got home safely in licensed vehicles.
Officers attending Beverley Racecourse were made aware of a number of unlicensed vehicles, including a minibus, limousines and rickshaws operating without the correct licences in place.
These are all being investigated further and appropriate action will be taken, if necessary.
Councillor Shaun Horton, portfolio holder for community involvement and local partnerships at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “There are regulations in place for those operating private hire vehicles in order to keep them and their passengers safe.
“We would urge anyone who books a private hire vehicle to make sure it is licensed and ask if anyone has any concerns to contact the licensing team.”
