YORKSHIRE WOLDS BEERS IN MARKS & SPENCER
Directors and staff at a Yorkshire coast brewery are celebrating after winning a contract to supply selected Marks & Spencer stores throughout Yorkshire.
The prestigious listing for Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery means that iconic India Pale Ale, Scarborough Fair and blonde beer, Wold Gold will now be stocked in 67 stores across the region.
Wold Gold, 4.8% ABV, is made from Wolds grown barley, wheat and Cara malt with Goldings and Styrian hops that give the beer its soft, fruity flavour with a hint of spice. It won a coveted three gold stars from the Guild of Fine Food in its Taste Awards in 2013.
Scarborough Fair IPA, 6% ABV, is a traditional, strong and well hopped beer that is brewed with a pale Wold grown malt base, a triple hop blend and maize for head retention. It was awarded two gold stars by the Guild of Fine Food in its Taste Awards in 2014.
The 500ml bottles retail at £2.40 and are part of a range of Yorkshire brewed beers.
Of the latest listing, brewery owner Tom Mellor said: “We’re delighted that two of our best-selling beers are now available in Marks & Spencer and we’re hoping that they will sell very well.”
