Exceptional running by Driffield Striders

Exceptional running by Emma Williams and Shaun Hobson ensured a memorable day for Driffield Striders in the opening race of the East Yorkshire Cross Country League season at Bishop Wilton.

A third spot for Shaun (38.48) was his high-est ever cross country position; and it came in a quality race won by Bridlington Roadrunners Phil Taylor (37.43), with clubmate Danny Brunton second in 38.09.The women’s race was won by City of Hull’s Carla Stansfield (40.53) on a day when underfoot conditions over the arduous Wolds course were the best for years.
