Nafferton’s Gary Robb continued his amazing start to the 2016 season as he made 226, the highest score by any player in the York & District Senior League in the campaign thus far, as his side made 369-9 against Cottingham 4th XI.
Having made 128 in Nafferton’s abandoned game against Kirkella 2nd XI a fortnight ago, Robb’s remarkable achievements got even better as he took the Cottingham attack to the cleaners to take the game away from the shell-shocked opposition.
After playing seven games this season, five for Nafferton and two on loan for Beeford, Robb has scored 434 runs. 400 of these have come for Nafferton at an average of 80.
Other runs for Nafferton came from Shaun Hutton, who made 42, and Patrick Scott who struck 70. With no hope of reaching their required total, Cottingham only managed to make 100- 5 in their reply with Gary’s sons Curtis and Cain part of the Nafferton bowling attack.
