Driffield Rugby Club to get a Woman’s Touch

Sessions for O2 Touch, an initiative set up by the RFU to introduce people into rugby union, are well under on Friday evenings at Driffield Rugby Club.

O2 Touch is designed for people who want to rediscover the sport or simply want to hone their fitness whether they are male or female, 8 or 80, a seasoned player or a beginner who wants to get started in touch rugby.

All the sessions are free of charge, and the club are also running an open day on Saturday 16th July at their Kelleythorpe home.

One of the main areas the club are focusing on at the O2 Touch sessions and tomorrow’s open day is girl’s rugby, which is currently one of the fastest growing sports in the world.

The England Women’s rugby union team’s success in the 2014 World Cup and in the 2012 Six Nations has also seen the sport receive greater exposure in the media.

During tomorrow’s open day which starts at mid-day, the club will be running a touch rugby tournament for teams of work colleagues, pubs, businesses or group of mates to enter.

If you can’t get a full squad together, there’s no need to worry as teams will also be put together on the day itself.

To enter a team or for more information about O2 Touch or the open day contact the club on 01377 256598
