The treasure hunt will begin at the Original Keys, where question sheets and maps will be available from 11am. The hunt will take you around North End Park and Riverhead before finishing back at the Original Keys, where the winners will be announced at 5pm.
The treasure hunt has been organised by Driffield Mayor, Councillor Mark Blakeston (pictured), and is in aid of the Yorkshire Wolds Railway restoration project, whose aim is to restore part of the Malton to Driffield line as a herit age attraction after it closed more than 50 years ago.
Cllr Blakeston said: “We have had lots of interest and support through Facebook as our page has had a lot of likes and a lot of people have said they are interested in going.
“We have also lots of support from the Yorkshire Wolds Railway. We have good prizes and I have bought a treasure chest which the prizes will be going inside. Hopefully it should be a good day.”
The winners will receive a family prize package which will include tickets to Flamingo Land, Driffield Show, The Deep, Sewerby Hall and Gardens and tickets for the Yorkshire Wolds Railway.
There will also be a raffle to be drawn on 6th December. Prizes include: Panasonic digital SLR camera (worth £500), 2017 season pass to all events at the Driffield Showground, voucher from Boyes, fruit basket from Rafters, gift pack from B&M and a gift card from Tesco.
The treasure hunt costs £4 per family. For more information, please visit the Mayor’s Treasure Facebook page for more information.
