Teenage cyclist sustains serious injuries in Bessingby collision

Bridlington: Police appeal for witnesses

An 18 year-old cyclist has sustained serious head injuries in a collision with a Citroen Berlingo on the A614 on the outskirts of Bridlington

On Sunday 16th July shortly before 5.30pm a blue Citroen Berlingo collided with a cyclist on the A614 at the junction with Bessingby Gate in Bridlington.

The 18 year-old cyclist sustained serious head injuries in the collision and was air-lifted by a Yorkshire Air Ambulance to The James Cook University Hospital at Middlesborough for treatment.  The driver of the Citroen was uninjured.

Humberside Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to call then on the non-emergency number 101 quoting log 498 of 16/07/17.
