East Riding of Yorkshire Council sets out its stall at Driffield Show 2017

East Riding of Yorkshire Council will once again be attending the Driffield Show, on Wednesday 19 July, with a wide range of council services represented in the marquee.

The stands and attractions will include:

  • A baby feeding and changing area.
  • Family entertainment throughout the day provided by Bridlington Spa, with performers from the summer show Myths and Legends and children’s entertainer Magic Mike.
  • Waste and recycling officers will be bringing their trailer to offer advice and information on all aspects of recycling, and also commercial waste.
  • The Active Coast team will be showcasing opportunities to get active, be healthy and enjoy life on the East Yorkshire coast, you can find out more about bushcraft activities or have a go at Sumo wrestling.
  • There will be a pedal-powered Velodrome where cyclists can generate the power to race around an interactive Velodrome, with LED lights following the progress of the racers.
  • There will be lots of games and competitions to take part in.
  • Staff from East Riding Leisure will be talking to people about activities taking place in the school holidays, health checks and the wide range of facilities and activities are available in leisure centres across the East Riding.
  • There will be a business hub where staff will be on hand to talk to those who need advice on starting, growing or relocating a business.
  • Staff from Driffield Children’s Centre will be there.
  • Adult services staff will be on hand to offer advice on the help and services that are available to help residents live independently at home.
  • Safer Roads Humber will have a car seat expert on hand who can offer advice to parents and carers on keeping children safe.
  • There will be information on the rollout of superfast broadband across the East Riding
  • Residents will also be encouraged to sign a pledge to Keep East Riding Tidy as part of a campaign urging people not to drop litter.So while you’re at the show, pop in and see us on plot K135.
