Honda Goldwings fly into Driffield ahead of town centre light parade

This weekend sees the annual Goldwing Treffen at Driffield Rugby Club and Driffield Showground.

The national event invites Honda Goldwing Owners from 26 European countries, attracts hundreds of Goldwing motorcycles and is the largest Goldwing event in Europe.

Motorcycle owners have gathered at in the Capital of the Wolds this week and will be hosting the huge Light Parade from 9pm tomorrow (Friday 25th August), which travels from the rugby club and into town via Beverley Road.

The parade will then travel the length of Middle Street before turning onto North Street and travelling down Scarborough Road onto the bypass where it will return to the town centre via York Road.

This will be followed on Saturday evening with the Parade of Nations at 5:45pm which will see each rider carry the flag of their nation on the same route.

Sunday will see a public open day where visitors can have a look the Goldwings from 11am to 4pm.

Jackie and Sean Stanhope, who are organising Saturday’s event, are also collecting for Meningitis Trust the chosen charity for both events.
