Teenage girls targeted in Hornsea abduction attempts

Humberside Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following two separate incidents in Hornsea.

At 5.45pm on 27 July a 15-year-old Hornsea girl reported that she was approached by a man as she was walking home on Bank Terrace.  The man pulled up beside her in his car and is alleged to have asked for directions and for her to get into the car.  The girl sensibly refused and told her parents who reported the incident to us.

At 5.20pm on 17 August a 17-year-old girl was walking along Rolston Road into Hornsea when she was approached by a man who is alleged to have grabbed at her.  He had been trying to talk to her at the roadside while cars passed by on the B1242.  Again she managed to get safely home and raise the alarm.

Police are very keen to identify the man who is thought to have been involved in both incidents, described as being black and between 5’9” – 5’11” tall.

Were you traveling along the B1242 Rolston Road last Thursday between 5 and 5.30pm, do you have a dash cam that you could review and send into us?

If you saw either of these incidents or can identify the man please call the non-emergency number 101 quoting log 458 of 17/08/17
