Police searching for Anthony Lawrence following a suspected murder in Southburn, Driffield, have located what is believed to be his car.
An investigation was launched after Police were called at 9.20pm last night (Friday, January 12) following reports a man and woman had been seriously injured in a disturbance at a property.
Sadly, the man died at Hull Royal Infirmary earlier today. The woman remains in a stable condition.
Chief Inspector Andy Parsons said: “We would like to thank everyone who has called in with information about the navy blue Vauxhall Meriva following our earlier appeal.
“We believe we have now located this vehicle and, unless you believe you have seen it overnight or this morning and have not yet been in touch with us, we no longer need any further information about it.”
Our teams – including dog units and the police helicopter – are continuing to work to urgently trace Mr Lawrence and establish the circumstances of last night’s events.
Chf Insp Parsons added: “We are still appealing for anyone who believes they have seen Mr Lawrence to call us immediately on 999.
“While we still believe this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider public, please do not approach him yourself.”
Mr Lawrence is described as white, 55-years-old, around 5ft 10in tall, with short dark hair and large build.
