Volunteers wanted to help clean up debris and litter on the beach at Fraisthorpe and Barmston

Join the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s Living Seas team at Fraisthorpe beach at noon on Friday the 9th of March as they help to clear away the litter carried on to the shore by ‘the Beast from the East’.

Tens of thousands of marine animals have been washed up along the Yorkshire coast following the cold temperatures and rough weather over the last week. Crabs, starfish, mussels and lobsters are ankle-deep in places along the Holderness coast in Yorkshire. Most of the animals are now dead.

  • Litter pickers provided but please bring work gloves if you have them.
  • No need to book, just turn up between 12 and 3pm this  Friday
  • Stay as long as you can! We will be heading South from Fraisthorpe towards Barmston.

For more information please contact the Living Seas Centre on 01262 422103.
