Excitement is building ahead of Friday night’s dazzling Driffield Christmas Festival and Lights Switch On.
The festive fun starts at 5pm, when there will be a Christmas market with more than 40 stalls selling a wide range of festive gifts providing lots of inspiration for stocking fillers and presents for loved ones.
KCFM will host live music in Market Place, with and York band, Chicago Joe and the Soul Divas creating a festive atmosphere throughout the town Rev Colin Marchment, Minister of Driffield Methodist Church, will give the blessing and prayers before the lights are switched on by the Mayor, Cllr Joyce Fletcher at 7pm.
There will be more live music afterwards, as well as street entertainment, fairground rides for all ages and Santa will be on hand to so you can enjoy the celebrations.
Shops and businesses in the town are also being encouraged to stay open until late to join in with the festive fun and help create a special and memorable event for residents and visitors to enjoy. In order to set up the festive event,
Middle Street South will be closed from the King Street junction along to the Cranwell Road junction on Middle Street North. The road closure has been applied for from 12 noon and will be enforced from 1.30pm.
The event will begin at 5pm and is due to finish at 8pm with the roads being re-opened at 10pm.
