Over the weekend, more than 100 stall-holders will be selling the best crafts, jewellery, pottery, produce and alcohol, amongst other items, whilst Santa will be on hand to welcome visitors to his winter wonderland.
There will also be an opportunity take part in lots of festive games and activities, as well as take a magical tractor and trailer to the Deer Park to meet Sledmere’s resident herd of Red Deer, where even Rudolph has been known to make a pre-Christmas appearance.
“Our Christmas Fair is on 7th, 8th and 9th December and is a really popular event each year, with more and more people coming to visit us,” said Lauren.
“This year, we have the additional feature of our Artisan Market, which have been a really good feature on our events list this year. We’ve held three so far and this will be our fourth. “Santa will be here on the Saturday and Sunday.
He’ll be back in his grotto in the stable yard and children and parents can wander around, take part in games, make some reindeer and take an Elfie Selfie, which is popular, before going to see Santa and picking a present.
“We are also offering tractor and trailer rides, with carol singing all the way down to the deer park, which we are also doing on 15th and 16th. “All the horse will be dressed up and during lunchtime, Laura Clark will drive Amy (the horse) through the ground of the estate, whilst people will be able to take photos with Poppy.
“Last year, Laura took the horses to deliver Mr Christopher Sykes’ Christmas vegetables at Sledmere Castle and this year, they will be parading through Driffield on Saturday 1st December, from 11am, starting at Driffield Showground “We also have a stall at the Driffield Christmas Lights Switch-On on Friday 30th November.
“This year, we feel more prepared for the Christmas Fair than ever and, for that reason, I think we are all looking forward to it.
