FIVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS MARKETS COMING TO BEVERLEY IN DECEMBER

Five days of Christmas activities are coming to Beverley as the popular Festival of Christmas returns to the town.

The festival, sponsored by The Beverley Arms, is now in its 27th year, and takes place on the second Sunday in December.

The centre of Beverley is transformed into a Christmas shopper’s wonderland, as over 120 stalls full of gifts and treats take over the market town.

The festival attracts thousands of visitors to the East Riding from across the UK for Christmas food, drinks, arts and crafts.

This year, the event takes place on Sunday 10th December from 10am-4pm and will take over Saturday Market, North Bar Witihn and Wednesday Market, with links to Flemingate.

In the days leading up to the festival, the Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market will also return to Beverley.

In its third year, the Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market celebrates the best produce East Yorkshire has to offer.

It will take place on Saturday Market from Wednesday 6th December to Friday 8th December from 10am-4pm, with festival entertainment and activities planned.

The weekly Saturday Market on 9th December will also have a Christmas theme.

“Beverley Festival of Christmas is one of the flagship events for our region and is an important date in the calendar for our high street businesses,” said Councillor Nick Coultish, portfolio holder for economic development and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council

“It is always a hugely popular event, with visitors from all over the UK coming to enjoy the festive stalls and entertainment.

“I’m sure it will be popular again this year and we look forward to welcoming residents and visitors as we get into the festive spirit in preparation for Christmas.

“It is also terrific that the Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market will be returning to Beverley for its third year.

“The market is a fantastic addition to a truly joyful time of the year and extends Beverley’s Christmas markets to five days.”
