GB NEWS SUSPENDS LAURENCE FOX AFTER HE REFUSES TO APOLOGISE FOR COMMENTS MADE ABOUT JOURNALIST

GB News has suspended presenter Laurence Fox after comments he made about a female political journalist, with the actor and broadcaster questioning what ‘self-respecting man’ would ‘climb into bed with her’.

The comments were made in a live discussion after PoliticsJoe correspondent Ava Evans said that calls for a minister for men ‘feed into the culture war’.

Fox’s remarks had made Evans ‘physically sick’, she said.

After distancing itself from Fox’s comments, GB News said it would formally apologise to Ms Evans.

“GB News has formally suspended Laurence Fox while we continue our investigation into comments he made on the channel last night,” said a statement from the broadcaster.

“Mr Fox’s suspension is effective immediately and he has been taken off air. We will be apologising formally to Ms Evans today.”

Fox has said he stands by his comments.

“I stand by every word of what I said,” said Fox.
