SUMMER OF FUN CONTINUES WITH EVENTS ACROSS THE EAST RIDING

The summer of fun continues in the East Riding with more events taking place across the area until the end of the school holidays.

Peppa Pig’s Fun Day Out at Bridlington Spa

Join Peppa, along with her family and friends on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August, as they go to the zoo and the beach for a special party.

Prepare to sing and dance with colourful scarecrows, feed the penguins, build big sandcastles, and swim in the sea.

Packed full of songs, dance, and muddy puddles. Peppa Pig’s Fun Day Out guarantees giggles and snorts for all Peppa fans and is a perfect introduction to theatre.

Glass, Glorious Glass:

Don’t forget to visit the Glass, Glorious Glass exhibition at Sewerby Hall and Gardens. Glass is taken for granted but is classed as one of humans’ greatest inventions.

Running until Sunday 15th September, delve into the history of glassware and look at a significant collection of beautiful Georgian glass donated by Peter Rayner.

Live ‘n Loud at Flemingate

Flemingate in Beverley is getting Live ‘n Loud with a festival designed especially for young people aged 11-17.

Go along and listen to live music, festival up your look with hair and glitter, try out DJing and even more, all for free.

Taking place on Friday 16th August, between 2pm and 5pm, at Flemingate on the grassed area next to the tipi.

The event is free, and you can drop in any time between 2pm and 5pm, no ticket required.

Kids Go Wild: Pond Safari & Art Activities

On Thursday 22nd August at 10am or 1pm, enjoy an exciting exploration of the ponds and discover who lives there.

From the safety of the shore of Eastrington Ponds Local Nature Reserve, look for ferocious water scorpions, curious water stick insects and amazing dragonfly nymphs, all dwelling below.

Pond dipping nets and trays provided.

Afterwards spend some chilled-out time on this quiet reserve. Enjoy using art materials to re-create the creatures you have seen, how about making a great diving beetle made from wonderful clay.

Free swimming sessions for 16s and under

Don’t miss out on free swimming sessions for 16s and under. This summer, until Sunday 1st September, children aged 16 and under can enjoy free swimming at East Riding Leisure sites.

Spaces for each session will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis until the bather capacity for the pool is reached.
