WORK DELAYED AT POCKLINGTON HOUSEHOLD WASTE RECYCLING SITE

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has confirmed that work planned for the household waste recycling site at Pocklington has now been delayed, meaning it won’t close in September.

The council had planned to temporarily close the site, on Pocklington Lane in Burnby, from Monday 23rd September until December for essential improvements.

But the site will remain open as the work to install a new drainage system has now been rescheduled for next year, due to unforeseen circumstances.

A future date for the closure has yet to be announced.

Councillor Paul West, the council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “This planned work will no longer go ahead this year, so residents can continue to use the recycling site as normal over the next few months.”
