Man in custody for string of driving offences after collision near North Cave on Thursday

A man is currently in custody after Humberside Police officers were called to reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision in North Cave on Thursday (6th March).
At approximately 9:20pm, officers received a call from a member of the public who reported they spotted a car in a ditch on Wold Hill.
Emergency services attended and discovered the driver of the vehicle had reportedly fled the scene. An area search was carried out, with assistance from a police dog unit, who tracked and located a man nearby.
“A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified, driving a vehicle without due care or attention and driving whilst over the prescribed limit. He remains in our custody whilst enquiries continue,” said a Humberside Police spokesperson.
