NEWCASTLE UNITED FAN STABBED IN MILAN BEFORE TUESDAY’S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MATCH

A Newcastle United supporter is in hospital after he was stabbed in Milan before this evening’s Champions League match against AC Milan.

Eddie McKay, a 58-year-old from Newcastle, was attacked by a group of seven or eight people whilst with his son and a friend, according to Sky Sports News.

Mr McKay is in a stable condition following the incident at 12 midnight on Monday, in which he was stabbed in the back and arms.

Newcastle United play AC Milan on Tuesday evening, the club’s first Champions League fixture for 20 years.

The club has sold 4,000 tickets, however, thousands more Newcastle fans have travelled to Milan.
