THOUSANDS FLOCK TO EDEN CAMP BACK TO THE 1940s WEEKEND

Over 2,500 people flocked to Eden Camp in Malton last weekend, for the modern history museum’s first ever 1940s Weekend, two action packed days of entertainment, displays and experiences from the wartime era.

Visitors soaked up the atmosphere and enjoyed music, dance, food and drink, with highlights including a line-up of 1940s tribute acts including The Bluebirds, He to the Jive, Karen Colin, Don Gentile, Lancashire Belle, Kyle Evens as George Formby and Claire Louise; RAF Bomber Command Briefings; gun firing demonstrations; and lookalike Dereck Herbert delivering Winston Churchill’s famous ‘Battle of Britain’ and ‘Victory in Europe’ speeches.

Paula Peace, Managing Director of Eden Camp said: “What a weekend. We were blown away by not only the visitor numbers across the two days, but the feedback and comments have been incredible.

“The team worked incredibly hard on the build-up and across the weekend; we certainly hope to do it all again in 2025.”

Whether you’re a history buff, a dance enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique weekend outing, Eden Camp promises an unforgettable experience for all ages.

Tickets to visit Eden Camp are £17 for adults, or £15 online, and children 5 to 16 are £14, or £13 online; offering families and visitors to North Yorkshire an affordable and unforgettable day out.
