YORKSHIRE WATER INVEST OVER £380,000 IN WEEL’S WATER NETWORK

Yorkshire Water is investing £384,000 to replace clean water pipes in Weel, nr Beverley. The company has said this will improve resilience in the water network and maintain water pressure to manage fluctuations in demand.

The work will start on site from Monday 28th October and the scheme is expected to take 17 weeks to complete.

The work will be carried out in two phases and traffic management will be in place so that it can be completed safely.

Phase one will start on Carr Lane by The Homestead, towards the junction of Weel Road, from 28th October to 20th December, with phase two from 2nd January to 14th February 2025, continuing up Weel Road to the junction of Grovehill Road.

A road closure will be in place for each phase of the improvements for through traffic, though residents and businesses will still have access.

Work will pause over this Christmas break from 20th December and resume on 2nd January 2025 to complete the work.

Yorkshire Water customer liaison team is in contact with local residents and the community to let them know what will be happening and when.

Victoria Corbett, asset delivery project manager at Yorkshire Water, said: “This investment will improve resilience in the network, providing safe, clean, reliable water now and into the future.

“We apologise to residents for any inconvenience this may cause and thank them for their patience as we carry out this work.

“This is one of the many improvements we are making that are part of our £800 million investment in infrastructure across the region this year.”
