LABOUR MP MIKE AMESBURY CHARGED WITH ASSAULT AFTER INCIDENT IN CHESHIRE LAST MONTH

Labour MP Mike Amesbury will appear in court to face an assault charge, say Cheshire Police.

The MP for Runcorn and Helsby faces a charge in relation to reports of an assault on a 45-year-old man in Frodsham at 2:48am on Saturday 26th October.

“Following a review of the evidence provided by Cheshire Police, we have authorised a charge of common assault against Mike Amesbury MP,” said Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division.

“The charge follows an alleged assault in Frodsham, Cheshire, on Saturday 26th October 2024..”
