Everton manager Sean Dyche becomes second Premier League boss to leave in as many days
Sean Dyche has been sacked as manager of Everton ‘with immediate effect’ just hours before the Toffees’ FA Cup third round fixture against Peterborough.
Under 18s coach and former defender Leighton Baines and club captain Seamus Coleman have been put in interim charge at Goodison Park.
Dyche’s assistants Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer have also left the club with Everton 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation spots.
“The process to appoint a new manager is under way and an update will be provided in due course,” said a club statement.
On Wednesday, West Ham United sacked head coach Julen Lopetegui and replaced him with former Brighton and Chelsea boss Graham Potter.
Dyche is the sixth Premier League manager to depart this season.
