Bridlington pub death – Man named

Humberside Police are continuing to investigate the unexplained death of a 61-year-old man who died in Bridlington on Tuesday the 12th January 2016.

The man has been named as Karl Staten of Fort Terrace, Bridlington and his family are receiving support from specially trained officers.

Police were called at 11am on Tuesday January 12 after he was discovered dead in the men’s toilets the Harbour Tavern, Queen Street, Bridlington.

His death is being treated as unexplained following inconclusive post-mortem results.

A 50 year-old Bridlington woman and a 32-year-old Bridlington man who were arrested as part of enquiries have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives investigating the death are keen to speak to anyone who was in the pub the evening before or anyone with information about the circumstances that led to Mr Staten’s death.
