Two men die in A614 collision in East Yorkshire

Two men have died following a serious two-vehicle collision on the A614 at Spaldington near Howden.
Humberside Police were called to the incident at around 9.55pm on Sunday, January 18, near Holme Road, close to Chestnut Farm.
It is reported that a blue Land Rover was travelling northbound along the A614 from Howden towards Holme on Spalding Moor when it was involved in a collision with a white Ford Transit van travelling in the opposite direction.
Emergency services attended the scene, where the two occupants of the Land Rover — a 27-year-old man and a 55-year-old man — were pronounced dead.
The driver of the van, a 31-year-old man, was taken to hospital with injuries described as life-changing.
The A614 was closed between Spaldington and Howden while emergency services dealt with the incident, but the road has since reopened.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for witnesses. Anyone who saw the incident, was in the area at the time, or has dashcam footage is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log number 436 of January 18.
