Driffield Steam Fair once again attracted countless families and steam engine enthusiasts alike to enjoy the weather and the many attractions on offer.

Since 1990, the steam rally has attracted crowds of people from far and wide to Driffield’s Showground, and this year has been no exception.

Thousands of people made their way to the Showground to take a look at the old steam engines during the day before lining Driffield’s Middle Street to see the engines in action.

George and Rita Riggs, who own the Bell Hotel, commented on the excitement of the steam rally, saying: “One of our highlights throughout the year includes Driffield’s annual steam rally.

“The steam rally is such an important occasion as it draws people in from long distances, with many visitors becoming regular residents with us here at The Bell.

“We have become great friends with many and always look forward to their annual visits.”

It was a weekend of high temperatures and plenty of sunshine, the weather could not have been better for the attendees and the organisers of the event.

With an array of vehicles over a century old, powered by either electric, internal combustion, or, of course, steam- the attention of everyone in the audience was held for the spectacular display.
