Family pays tribute to man who died in fatal collision near Driffield

The family of a man who died between Driffield and Langtoft on Monday 14th November have paid tribute to him.

Police were called at 5:30pm following reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike on the B1249 Scarborough Road. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital but sadly died from his injuries.

Officers have named the man who sadly died in the collision as 64-year-old David Sixsmith.

David’s family have paid tribute to him, saying: “David was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family, his job and vintage ploughing matches, and enjoyed canal boat holidays and World War Two planes.

“He enjoyed being with his friends and just life in general. He was so kind and generous and would help anyone.”

Police have asked anyone who has information about the collision to get in touch on the non-emergency number 101, quoting log 418 of 14th November.
