Free parking in Driffield in the run-up to Christmas

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has confirmed that free pre-Christmas parking for the first four weekends in December will return.

The popular scheme has been run by the council for the past 14 years and applies to all council-run on street and off-street car parks in Driffield.

This will see charges suspended at Beckside Car Park and Cross Hill Car Park.

The long stay car park at Eastgate Car and Coach Park remains free of charge, as normal.

Pay and display machines in Beckside and Cross Hill will be clearly marked to let shoppers know there is no charge for Saturday 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th December.

Charges do not apply in the car parks on Sundays.

The council has said that parking charges will apply as normal on all other days in December, including Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Although parking charges are suspended, motorists are advised that normal parking rules still apply, such as those around disabled parking bays, maximum stays and controlled parking zones.
