Police issue update on Northfield School vandalism

Humberside Police has issued an update regarding the investigation into a break-in and vandalism which caused extensive damage at Driffield Northfield Infant School in March.

Four boys aged 13 or under were detained following the incident on 26th March, with the damage forcing the school to close for a week ahead of the Easter school holidays.

The community rallied around the school, supporting staff and pupils, and the buildings at Northfield were able to reopen to the children after Easter.

The boys who were arrested were questioned, along with their parents and guardians in connection with the incident as officers continued their investigation.

In an update given to the Wolds Weekly, a spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Following reports of criminal damage at Northfield Infant School on Southfield Close in Driffield, on Sunday 26th March at 6pm, four boys, all aged 13 or under have been referred to appropriate services through partnering agencies.”
