Valentine’s Day at Sledmere House

This Valentine’s, Sledmere House and Gardens are excited to offer a Valentine’s Willow Workshop in The Orangery, followed by a romantic Valentine’s Afternoon Tea.

Enjoy learning how to create a willow heart with your loved one. Janice Burley from Down 2 Earth will guide you through each step in this 45-minute workshop, starting with a pile of sticks and ending with a unique creation to take away with you.

Did you know your fifth wedding anniversary is wood, and your ninth is willow?

Following the workshop, you’ll head to The Courtyard Room to indulge in the following special Valentine’s Afternoon Tea:

● Sledmere Fizz – A glass of house Prosecco with a fresh raspberry or a glass of berry spritz

● Freshly baked fruit scones – Served with clotted cream and Tiptree strawberry jam

● Finger sandwiches – Roasted ham, egg mayonnaise and cress, mature cheddar and Yorkshire chutney and tuna mayonnaise

● Sledmere Rare Breed sausage rolls – Sledmere Rare Breed pork baked in a classic puff pastry

● A selection of cakes and sweet treats – Chocolate dipped strawberries, chocolate ganache pots, carrot cake bites and lemon meringue tarts

● Tea or coffee

The workshop begins at 1pm, followed by afternoon tea at 2pm, and your ticket also includes entry to the parkland, gardens and farm park, either before or after the experience.

The Pantry and Farm Shop also have plenty of food and drink treats as gifts for your Valentine – pop in to pick up chocolates, fudge, a special bottle of fizz or gin, and there are Valentine’s biscuits too.

The Woodyard Home, Gift and Garden Shop has an array of unique gifts on offer for those searching for the perfect gift for your loved one, from inspiring homeware to gifts including fragrance and jewellery, plus indoor and outdoor plants.

If you would like a romantic walk, the popular snowdrop trail begins on Wednesday 7th February, so the displays of snowdrops and other winter flowering bulbs will be just at their finest.
