Pocklington is a classic English market town located at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds, 15 miles from the city of York.
With an array of shops, places to visit and stay and lovely eateries, all surrounded by glorious countryside.
It is also home to The Pocklington Arts Centre, an award-winning multi-arts venue with a diverse programme of events.
Some of the world’s best musicians, comedians and actors have performed on PAC’s stage, and it hosts exhibitions and workshops.
Pocklington Arts Centre was set up in February 2000 following an intensive period of fundraising to support the money provided by Pocklington Town Council to purchase and refurbish the former Ritz cinema.
Pocklington’s unique Burnby Hall Gardens have justifiably been called “a jewel in Yorkshire’s crown” and are home to a national collection of over 100 varieties of hardy water lilies which bloom on the upper and lower lakes between June and August.
