Pawsome Lineup Unleashed at Driffield Show 2024: Fun Dog Show Promises Tail-Wagging Fun!

Dog lovers will be in for a real treat again this year as Ryedale Dog Rescue returns with its fun dog show at the Driffield Show on Wednesday 17th July.

The dog show is an informal fun show with 18 classes and then a best in show.

Classes range from cutest puppy, golden oldie and happiest rescue to waggiest tail, best child handler and many more.

All proceeds from the show will go towards supporting the valuable work carried out by the Ryedale Dog Rescue.

Dianne Illingworth from the charity said: “We are delighted to be back for another fun event at the Driffield Show.

“We will be on site for people to register their dogs from 9am with the show starting at 11am. There is no rush to register though, just enjoy the day and we will collect the money as entries go into the ring for each class.

“We have rosettes and prizes to 4th place. Our judges this year are Vicky Foxton and her mum with Kate Wright on PA, who are all local ladies to Driffield.

“The funds raised through the £1.50 entry to each class go towards caring for the dogs in our care. We will also have a tombola, teddy game and a few things for sale.”

Ryedale Dog Rescue was formed in 2005 and became a registered charity in January 2007.

Originally set up to rehome abandoned and unwanted animals within the Ryedale area, it soon became apparent that there were a large number of dogs in the East Riding of Yorkshire area and beyond facing the threat of unnecessary destruction and desperately needing their help.

Ryedale Dog Rescue is run entirely by volunteers who take no personal expenses from the charity.

They raise all their own funds through fun dog shows, tombolas, car boot sales, raffles, bingo nights, coffee mornings, and many other events.

All the proceeds go directly to saving the lives of abandoned and unwanted dogs and finding them new forever homes.

Welfare is a top priority and Ryedale Dog Rescue prides itself on giving the dogs top quality veterinary care while they await their new homes in high quality kennels.

Dianne added: “We are continually looking for ways to raise money and work with the community to help out. The recent cost of living crisis has caused many problems for people and we have been helping the local food banks with dog food to keep families and dogs together.
