Brrrrrrr-idlington – Town to host its first ice trail

Bridlington is preparing to host its first ice trail in the run up to Christmas.

Sculptures will be located around the town as part of a weekend of festive fun.

It centres around a two-day Christmas food festival on the market on King Street on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November.

BBC Look North presenter Peter Levy will be the special guest on the Saturday with the town’s Christmas lights being switched on at 5.30pm.

Over the two days there will be stunning sculptures, three ice and fire displays, more than 50 stalls on the market and the chance to sample local and international food and real ales.

If you’ve ever wondered how ice sculptures are made, go along to live ice carving demonstrations where you can watch the team from Glacial Art in action.

The live ice carving will begin around noon and will take two to three hours, with locations to be confirmed nearer the time.

As night falls, the ice sculptures will come alive with a dazzling display of lights.

Bridlington Round Table is operating Santa’s Grotto for young visitors to meet Father Christmas.
