Magic, Music, and More: Summer Events at Sewerby Hall

Families are in for a treat this summer as Sewerby Hall and Gardens in Bridlington gears up for a packed season of fun-filled events and activities running through to Sunday, 31 August.

From comedy puppet shows to hands-on wildlife experiences, the historic coastal venue promises entertainment for all ages with a vibrant mix of regular weekly events, special themed days, and interactive storytelling.

Among the weekly highlights, children can enjoy Coco the Bunny Puppet Show every Sunday (11.30am–3pm), while Wednesdays bring Mr Bubbles’ magic shows, giant bubble displays, and face painting (£3 per child), running from 11am to 4pm.

Young adventurers aged 8 to 12 can join the Sewerby Explorers programme—an action-packed day of games, learning and creativity—on 22 July, 5 August, and 12 August. Pre-booking is essential at £25 per child.

The popular Rusticus theatre troupe returns with interactive outdoor performances throughout the week:

• Carnival Time! every Saturday
• Mystery of Smuggler’s Cove on Mondays
• Woodland Creatures Theatre: Dr Doolittle on Tuesdays
• Sea Spells adventures on Thursdays
  All Rusticus performances run from 11am to 3pm.

On Wednesday, 6 August, visitors can meet Flurry and Drift, two rebellious snowflakes from a snow globe, as they take over the gardens for a Bridmas Day performance walk.

Other attractions include weekly concerts in the Orangery, adventure play areas, crafting with the Wildcats, and up-close zoo experiences such as ‘Fruit Kebabs’ and ‘Meet the Hoof Stock’.

Special events across the summer include:

• Yorkshire Day celebrations on Friday, 1 August (10am–4pm), featuring local entertainment and the Yorkshire Day Makers Fair (11am–4pm), showcasing over 40 regional artisans.
• Ecology at the Beach with The Deep on Friday 25 July and Tuesday 26 August (11.30am–3pm), offering beachcombing and art inspired by the coastline.
• Family Fun Day on Sunday 3 August (10.30am–3.30pm), with inflatables, bubbles, puppet shows, animal encounters, and face painting (£3).
