Three of top ten towns are in Yorkshire, making it the most featured region in the results; Bridlington, Thirsk & Kingston-Upon-Hull are in fifth, sixth and tenth place respectively.

Norfolk is the second most featured region, with Hunstanton (fourth place) and Cromer (ninth place) both seeing great increases in popularity.

The news on Bridlington’s success has been welcomed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, which promotes the town through the Visit Hull & East Yorkshire (VHEY) tourism partnership.
Councillor Richard Burton, cabinet portfolio holder for leisure, tourism and culture, said: “Bridlington has a really unique tourism offer, from traditional beach breaks to busy weekends of art and culture.
“There really is something for all the family to enjoy, including the magnificent seabird colonies of RSPB Bempton, the incredible leisure facilities offered by the new £25 million East Riding Leisure Bridlington, the comprehensive entertainment programme at Bridlington Spa and the historic hall and gardens at Sewerby.
“Working with our private sector partners, the council is committed to growing the tourism industry in the East Riding and continues to promote the area locally, nationally and internationally.”
The Bridlington is one of three Yorkshire destinations to have made the list, alongside Thirsk and Kingston-upon-Hull, the UK City of Culture for 2017, and was the top rated location from the county in fifth place.
