Driffield Show horticultural section is open for entries

Organisers of this year’s Driffield Show have confirmed that the schedule for the horticulture section is now available, and entries are open.
There is a wide range of horticulture classes across floral art, flower, fruit and vegetables and corn classes.
Some of the classes in the floral art section designed to inspire exhibitors to gte creative are Victoriana, a plinth exhibit featuring fresh plant material and a summer wreath.
The Children’s Vegetable class makes a welcome return in the fruit and vegetables class which is open to children aged 11 and under, designed to encourage youngsters to make their first steps into horticulture, perhaps assisted by a parent or grandparent, by displaying a container or vegetables, no bigger than a shoebox.

Schedules for the horticulture and handicraft sections are available from the Driffield & Wolds Weekly office and Driffield library ahead of this year’s 150th Driffield Show on Wednesday 22nd July.

Exhibits can be staged from 2pm on Tuesday 21st July, but must be in place by 9am on the Wednesday.
