Yorkshire Wolds Railway ready for Bank Holiday Spectacular

The Yorkshire Wolds Railway is looking forward to a Bank Holiday Monday full of events for people of all ages to enjoy.

Tomorrow, Monday 27th August will see the return of the ever-popular Best of British event.

Now in its third year, the event promises to be bigger than ever with Yorkshire Wolds Railway playing host to the Bridlington & Wolds Morris Minors Owners Club, My Fun Bus, face painting, a bouncy castle and traditional games such as hook a duck.

The site will be filled even further with stalls selling ice cream and a barbecue will be provided by Bluebell Farm Meats from Wetwang.

Katy said “Visitors who have visited the previous Best of British events will know that it’s a wonderful day and this year’s will be no exception. We are really grateful to all the organisations and members of the public who continue to support it.”

The Yorkshire Wolds Railway is open at Fimber Halt on Beverley Road in Fimber every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from 11am-5pm until the end of October (on Bank Holiday Mondays, the site will close at 4pm).

The YWR is always keen to involve new people and anyone interested in becoming a member, volunteering for any aspect such as driving (after training), making a donation or just finding out more should visit the YWR website at or call 01377 338053.
