Farmer Chris launches book and new TV series

Yorkshire farmer and TV personality Chris Jeffery has launched his autobiography Farming, Celebs and Plum Pudding Pigs to coincide with his third series as judge of Celebs on the Farm, which will air on MTV from Monday 8 February for two weeks.

‘If somebody had told me, two years ago, that I would have appeared on a TV show with Linda Robson from Birds of a Feather, Duncan James from Blue, Caprice, Kerry Katona and Crissy Rock from Benidorm, or that we would be into a third series or that I’d have my own book out, I’d have laughed, I really would.’

Chris, who farms rare breed cattle, pigs and sheep as well as running a country store with his wife Kate, first appeared on The Yorkshire Vet with Julian Norton where he’s now a regular.

‘It was the chemistry between myself and Julian that brought about the opportunity with Celebs on the Farm and this time we have filmed the whole show in Yorkshire, near Scarborough at Stepney Hill Farm, home of Ashley Tyson and his family. It’s hilarious and well worth watching how the celebs swap their glamorous lifestyles for muck and even more muck!’

Chris has been through some tough times in his life and said writing his book was emotional and deeply satisfying: ‘I think people will enjoy my journey. I’ve made a lot of mistakes, some amazing ups and downs and there are lots of laughs too, but readers may also be shocked by some of it. I’ve had a colourful life.’

Farming, Celebs & Plum Pudding Pigs is published by Great Northern Books and is available through Amazon and book stores. Signed copies are available direct from Chris either by visiting his Facebook page or his website www.farmerchris.co.uk
