Delighted organisers of the Burton Fleming and Wold Newton Charity Tractor Run are over the moon after the event raised more than £3,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The tractor run was organised in memory of its former organiser and Yorkshire Air Ambulance volunteer and fundraiser Jane Robinson.
Jane had organised the popular tractor run for many years raising funds for both St Catherine’s Hospice and Yorkshire Air Ambulance before she sadly passed away suddenly in August 2020.
Around 70 tractors took part in the run on Sunday which set off from opposite Burton Fleming village hall.
The convoy passed through numerous villages in the Wolds before finishing at the Anvil Arms in Wold Newton.
This year the tractor run was organised by Jane’s daughter Rheanne Sleightholme and Jane’s sisters Marie Sheader and Sharon Robinson, who said Jane would be proud of the turnout on the day.
Sharon said: “It was an amazing day and Jane would have been chuffed to bits.
“Such a lot of people turned out to support us along the route and in the villages and the sun shone for us. It was a wonderful experience.
“I don’t know how Jane used to do it every year on her own, but we couldn’t have done it without the support of all the volunteers who came to help us from Yorkshire Air Ambulance and friends and family locally. We can’t thank them all enough.
“It was so warm and comforting to know how much support we have received and Jane would be so proud.”
