DROP THE DEAD DONKEY ACTRESS HAYDN GWYNNE HAS DIED AT THE AGE OF 66

Some sad news this afternoon – The English actress Haydn Gwynne who appeared television series Drop the Dead Donkey and the musical version of Billy Elliot, has died at the age of 66.

Gwynne was nominated for Tony and Olivier awards for her portrayal of Billy Elliot’s dance teacher in the West End show.

She also appeared as Margaret Thatcher in The Audience and was due to return to the West End last month.

However, she was forced to pull out after being diagnosed with cancer.

In a statement, her family said she had died in ‘the small hours of Friday 20th October’ surrounded by her family.
