Wildlife Artist Robert Fuller Reaches One Million Followers On Facebook

Yorkshire wildlife artist and filmmaker Robert E Fuller is celebrating this week after receiving global recognition for his films and paintings of British wildlife.

In the same week the artist reached 1 million followers on Facebook and also won a major Chinese award for his art.

Robert E Fuller, who paints portraits and films about the wildlife living near his home in Thixendale, said he was overwhelmed by the global interest in his unique portrayals of British wildlife.

“It’s amazing to think that so many people all around the world enjoy the stories I tell about animals living here in Yorkshire,” he said.

“It just shows how much people everywhere appreciate British wildlife. The squirrels, stoats, kestrels and owls that hide in the hedgerows and fill the skies here, seem to be capturing the hearts of wildlife lovers everywhere.”

Followers of Robert Fuller’s Facebook page are located around the world with fans located in far-flung places from the Philippines to Pakistan.

The artist’s focus on British wildlife is also particularly popular in China where the artist has a combined following on 200,000 fans on Chinese social media platforms Bilibili and Xigua.

This week the artist won two awards for his wildlife paintings on Chinese Wildlife Image & Video, a countrywide competition run by China National Geography.

The two winning paintings featured a pine marten and a lapwing with its chicks and were inspired by sightings in Scotland and East Yorkshire respectively.

The artist, whose social media page tells the individual stories of animals whose lives Robert Fuller follows via cameras hidden in their nests, is currently showing his work at a major exhibition.

Robert E Fuller’s Winter Exhibition runs at his gallery in Thixendale from 9.30am to 4.30pm on weekdays and from 10.30am to 4.30pm until December 24th.
