MAN CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE OFFENCES AFTER DRIVER FAILED TO STOP NEAR MARKET WEIGHTON

A 19-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences after the driver of a car failed to stop when asked by officers to do so last week near Market Weighton.

Liam Slade, of Bilsdale Grove in Hull, was charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without insurance and possession of a bladed article.

He has been bailed to appear at court at a later date.

“Officers from our Roads Crime Team spotted a car they suspected had false number plates on the A1079 near to Arras Hill on Wednesday 28th February,” said a Humberside Police spokesperson.

“The roads crime team requested the driver of the car to stop, however they failed to do so and five people fled from the vehicle a short time later.

“Five men were subsequently arrested nearby. The other four have since been released without charge in connection with the incident.”
