51-YEAR-OLD DRIVER DIES IN FATAL ROAD TRAFFIC COLLISION INVOLVING HGV AND TRACTOR BETWEEN WETWANG AND MALTON

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal road traffic collision involving a tractor and a HGV between Wetwang and Malton on Tuesday (9th April).

The collision occurred on the B1248 in Wharram Le Street at around 11:35am.

The 51-year-old driver of a red DAF articulated HGV towing an open flatbed trailer was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

North Yorkshire Police said it is supporting his family.

The collision also involved a green tractor and trailer, carrying hay. The driver, a man in his 50s, is assisting with police enquiries and was uninjured.

Both vehicles were travelling towards Norton when the collision took place.

“We’re appealing for any witnesses or dashcam footage which may have captured the collision or seen the vehicles prior to the incident,” said a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson.
