INVESTIGATION INTO EQUIPMENT THEFTS IN EAST YORKSHIRE DURING SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER

Humberside Police officers are investigating six reports of equipment thefts from motor vehicles around Anlaby Common, Swanland and Rawcliffe between Friday 27th September and Monday 7th October.

Detective Inspector Luke Albison said: “We are following numerous lines of enquiries, and I want to reassure residents that we are working hard to identify those responsible and prevent any further incidents.

“We ask residents to be extra vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to us, but would also like to remind those who transport tools to follow some simple tips to help protect their vehicles:

“Remove all equipment and tools at night. Don’t leave anything in your car or van, particularly when it is parked overnight.

“Always use electronic immobiliser or alarms if fitted. Always keep your car doors, windows and sunroof locked, even if you only leave it for a few minutes.

“A van’s signwriting shows what you might be transporting. Consider an unmarked vehicle. Never leave property of any kind on view.
