Hull boxing star Tommy Coyle to play King Rat in Dick Whittington at Bridlington Spa this Christmas

It’s a real knockout for Bridlington Spa’s Christmas pantomime as Hull’s former boxing champion Tommy Coyle steps into the ring, or rather, onto the stage, to take on the villainous role of King Rat in this year’s production of Dick Whittington.

A hometown hero, renowned for his fighting spirit and community work, Coyle will be swapping his boxing gloves for a villain’s cloak, ready to bring plenty of punch to the panto baddie.

Expect dodgy dealings, plenty of boos, and a few cheeky jabs as he goes toe-to-toe with the show’s hero in a battle for the streets of London, and the audience’s affections.

“I’ve had some tough opponents in my time, but taking on the role of King Rat might just be my biggest challenge yet,” said Coyle.

“I can’t wait to bring some fun, and maybe a little bit of mischief, to Bridlington Spa this Christmas.

“I just hope the audience boos me louder than my old rivals did in the ring.”

With dazzling costumes, hilarious comedy, and plenty of festive cheer, Dick Whittington promises to be a knock-out show for all the family.

Coyle will be joined by a stellar cast, with more exciting names to be announced soon.
