Lots going on in Driffield this weekend to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday

The Driffield Town Council are celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday in style  with an eleven-day event in conjunction with Driffield in Bloom (DiB).

From Monday 6th to Thursday 16th June, DiB are running a “Best Dressed Window Competition” for shops and businesses with the winner to be decided from a public vote.

Following on from that they will be holding a celebratory flower festival is also taking place at All Saints Parish Church in Driffield which is open to the public this weekend – Friday 10th June to Sunday 12th June. Flower displays by voluntary organisations and schools will decorate the church and local musicians are also being invited to come along to the church during the flower festival to play to the visitors.

Saturday 11th June will see the Queen’s 90th Birthday Party at North End Park, organised by the DTC. Free admission for the whole event from 11am to 3pm where you will find the Buckrose Band, arts and craft, vintage rides and a BBQ for a great family day out.

To end the weekend, a celebration service at the All Saints Church on Sunday June 12th from 11:15am will be followed by a bring your own birthday picnic in the church grounds from 12:15pm, with the Driffeld Silver Band.
