‘A Night at the Circus’ at Sledmere musical fireworks spectacular

For one night only, Sledmere House will be hosting ‘A Night at the Circus’ as part of its annual Musical Fireworks Spectacular, which is set to be ‘bigger’, ‘better’ and more popular than ever.

As well as a fantastic display of magnificent pyrotechnics set to music associated with the Big Top, people are advised to wrap up warm and don their wellies in the grounds of the stately home on Saturday 27th October to enjoy circus-themed entertainment including stilt walkers, fire-eaters and a skills workshop, in addition to food stalls, a licensed bar and fun fair.

The gates open at 5:30pm, with the display commencing at 8pm in the Deer Park against the backdrop of the house.

“We have a new theme this year, ‘A Night at the Circus’, said Lauren Fenwick, PR and Marketing Coordinator at Sledmere House.

“The music will all relate to the circus and there will be a fairground, a circus skills workshop, stilt walkers and fire-eaters.

“There will be lots going on and the fireworks are going to be even bigger and better this year.

“The circus skills workshop is a really exciting feature that both children and adults can enjoy and have a go on the unicycles, spinning plates and diablos.

“People can do as much or as little as they like, and it’ll be great fun, especially if the weather remains favourable.

“Ticket sales are 35 per cent up on last year and we advise people to buy their tickets at the discounted price before the deadline of Friday 19th October, as if it continues like this we might not be able to sell tickets on the door.

“We love all the reviews of the display that we receive, and people are starting to come from far and wide, some as far away as Norfolk, and staying overnight in the village.

“We all love it and that is evident by the way the staff talk about it.”
