Driffield School & Sixth Form pupils gear up for Oliver Twist production


TALENTED young performers from Driffield School and Sixth Form will take to the stage this week in Lionel Bart’s musical hit Oliver!

Dress rehearsals began on Wednesday 13th February for the stars of the show, with production to be performed on Tuesday 5th March until Saturday 9th March 2019.

The cast includes the talented students from Years 7-13, with some double casting of the lead parts.

Harry and Dylan (Year 7) will perform as Oliver Twist, Cameron (Year 12) as Fagin, Dan (Year 9) and Teddy (Year 11) as The Artful Dodger, Alex (Year 12 as Bill Sykes and Sophie (Year 12) and Mollie (Year 13) as Nancy.

Mr Colley, Head of Drama at Driffield School & Sixth Form said, “The dress rehearsals are going really well, we’ve been planning and practising the show since September, so we’ve had a good few months on it.

“The great thing about this cast is that they’ve all been very committed and really focused.

“Everybody is looking forward to performing the production to family and friends.

“The tickets have sold out for Saturday, but there’s a few left for the Friday night, and plenty for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

“The production has been a record in terms of ticket sales, because they have sold so quickly, but there is still plenty of tickets available, come along and support us!”

Tickets can be purchased from the main reception in the ACE building at £8 per person and £5 for Driffield School & Sixth Form students.
