Final preparations are underway for a weekend of family fun and festivities as Hutton Cranswick gears up for the annual Cran-bury Beer and Music Festival followed by the popular village show.

The fun all begins at 1pm on Saturday 27th July when the Cran-bury Beer and Music Festival gets underway on the Village Green with an afternoon of free children’s entertainment.

A bouncy castle, inflatable obstacle course, face painting, children’s entertainer and magician and the new addition of a craft marquee run by The Creation Station will keep the children entertained before the live music begins with local ukulele band, Travelling Light, at 4.15pm.

A children’s disco follows at 5.30pm before the live music continues with party band Airwaves, who are sure to get people up on their feet dancing.
Talented acoustic musician Laura Kelly will follow, ahead of the headline act Boomin’, who are travelling all the way from Wigan to play their set of ‘unpredictable, epic, rock n roll’.

The night draws to a close with The Rumshack 4, an acoustic covers band, who will end the night on a high.

This is the third year of the festival which was the brainchild of Kylie Bowden, a member of the organising committee of the Hutton Cranswick Village Show, and her friend Scott Tomlinson, who organised the event to help raise funds to support the village show.

“Everyone pulls together to make it all happen and the money raised goes back into projects for the village and it is something which I feel very proud to be a part of.

“I would like to say a special thank you to our sponsors Hutton Cranswick Fisheries, Jewsons, Williamsfield Developments, Ian Sibley-Calder, Michael Readman Lawnmower Services, Kepi, Yorkshire Groundwork’s Solutions and Foreman’s Garage for helping to make it all happen and also to the Parish Council for their support.

“A huge thanks as well must go to our Cran-bury team who give up lots of hours in preparation and on the Cran-bury day, it wouldn’t happen without them!

“If anyone would be willing to volunteer at any time over the Cran-bury/Village Show weekend, please get in touch, if everyone could give us an hour it would make very light work.

This weekend’s show is expected to be another success.

“There are still plenty of sponsorship opportunities available, please email us at cranburyfest@gmail.com for more information.”

Tickets are still available from The White Horse and Foreman’s Garage. Tickets are priced at £15 per adult and £5 per child. Children’s tickets include a drink and ice cream.
